Introduction

Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1 cup old fashioned oats
    1 cup skim milk powder
    2 tbsp dried fruit (raisins, crasins, other) I used SunMaid Fruit Bits
    2 tbsp bittersweet chocolate chips
    1 cup unsweetened applesauce
    1 tsp baking powder
    3 tbsp whole wheat flour
    1 packet sweetener (I used Purevia)
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 tsp cinnamon

    Optional
    2 tbsp PB2 powdered peanut butter (added in this version)
    or
    1 tbsp flaxseeds (not figured in this version for cal count)

Directions

Combine dry ingredients, mix thoroughly. Add applesauce and mix well. Form into 6 mounds on cookie sheet or baking stone. Can also be made in a bar pan or small baking pan. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes.

    I loved it! Filling and delicious~ I love the PB and cinnamon combo! Yum!
    *edit- I have been mixing all of the dry ingredients and placing the in a zip lock bags and then I just have to preheat the oven add applesauce and I have cookies in no time! My favorite breakfast for almost 3 months now!

    I was a little skeptical when I looked at these ingredients, but OMG these are delicious and filling. For breakfast, I had one of these cookies and yogurt, fruit and cool whip light with slivered almonds. These cookies are excellent! - 5/20/10

    I made this recipe. They are soft and chewy.... I think they are pretty good for a cookie that is also good for you. They are very easy to make. I will probably make them again! Thanks so much for the recipe! - 1/8/12
