    1 pound pasta (regular or gluten-free)
    1 1/4 cups water
    1 cup plain, fat-free soymilk (may use other non-dairy milk)
    3/4 cup nutritional yeast
    3 tablespoons cornstarch or potato starch
    1 tablespoon lemon juice
    1 teaspoon salt (or more to taste)
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 teaspoon onion powder
    1 tablespoon mustard
    1 teaspoon smoked paprika
    2 tablespoons tahini
    Dash of Cayenne Pepper
    black pepper to taste


Put the pasta on to boil, according to package directions. Drain and return to pot. Mix in remaining ingredients and heat.

If the sauce is not as flavorful as youd like, add a little more of your favorite spices.

    This was good and super easy to make. Next time, I'm thinking of tossing some broccoli or some kind of veggie in to give it a green component. - 3/26/12

    I liked it a lot. If you don't care for nutritional yeast, though, you won't like it so much. Also, we found that if the sauce dries out, adding water really helps it return to a smoother, creamier consistency. Don't be sheepish with the water! - 2/28/12
