Ingredients

    Two 28oz. Cans Crushed Tomato
    One 6oz. Can Tomato Paste
    1 Tbsp + 2 Tsp Garlic Powder
    1 Tbsp Onion Powder
    2 Tbsp Salt
    1 Tsp Ground Oregano
    1 Tsp Ground Basil
    1/2 Cup Olive oil

Directions

Combine all ingredients (except water) in large cooking pot (add 1/4 cup water to each empty 28oz can of crushed tomato, equaling the 1/2 cup, to swish around to get all of the tomato from the can and pour into rest of ingredients) . Mix well until oil is mostly mixed in. Bring to a boil then simmer COVERED on low for approx. 1 hour. (if left uncovered, it WILL make a huge mess). Makes Approx. Ten 1/2cup servings. Store for about a week in refrigerator, freeze portion that will not be used within one week.

    I HAVE ALMOST THE SAME RECIPE. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS I USE 2 CANS OF TOMATO PUREE INSTEAD OF THE CRUSHED TOMATO FOR A SMOOTH GRAVY (SAUCE) - 3/17/11
