Introduction
Makes water less boring Makes water less boringNumber of Servings: 16
Ingredients
-
1/2 Cucumber
1 Knuckle fresh Ginger
Fresh Mint Sprig crushed or 2 Herbal Mint tea bags steeped
1 Meyer Lemon juiced
1 Cup Strawberries fresh or frozen
1 Gallon Water
Directions
Peel ginger & cucumber
Puree ginger, cucumber, mint leaves, strawberries in food processor
To 1 gallon water add puree, if using tea bags add at this time.
Let mixture & tea bags sit overnight in frig
Next Day
Add the juice of one lemon to the mixture before straining
Strain into another gallon size container
Discard pulp
Enjoy ice cold
Keep refrigerated at all times
Stores well for up to 2 days
I also make this tea into ice cubes to take to work - I plop 2 cubes into a 16 oz glass for a very light refreshing flavored water
Due to the fact you discard the pulp I think there would be less than 5 calories in this mixture ?

I've heard this called "Sassy Water" before, too. You mince the ginger, slice the cuke and lemon thinly, and put the mint leaves in whole. Very fast and easy. It's an excellent drink--very refreshing. I have no problem drinking a lot of water but this really tastes good and helps consumption. - 3/14/10
