    2/3 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    1/3 cup applesauce
    1 cup mashed bananas
    3 tbsp buttermilk
    1 cup wheat flour
    1 cup white flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 cup chopped walnuts (opt)


Stir together sugar, applesauce, eggs
Mix bananas and buttermilk.
Stir into sugar mixture.
Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt.
Stir into banana mixture.
Add nuts.
Bake 50-60 minutes @ 350 degrees

    The banana bread is in the oven , I added 1 tsp of cinnamon and some nutmeg as well as 1 cup of fresh blueberries, should be delicious! - 2/18/09

    I thought it still needed some spice so before I made this I added cinnamon to the recipe and it was ok. It still lacks something and I think I shall make it again but add more spices. It is worth tinkering with. - 9/11/07
