Introduction

Lovely warming winter casserole with no added fat and gluten and dairy free. Lovely warming winter casserole with no added fat and gluten and dairy free.
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    410g braising steak, trimmed and chopped
    3 medium carrots, peeled and sliced
    2 medium onions, chopped
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp pepper
    1 tbsp cornflour
    125ml red wine
    125ml beef stock
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 tbsp tomato paste
    1/2 tsp thyme
    1 bay leaf
    90g fresh mushrooms

Directions

1. Dry fry the steak in a large pan until browned
2. Add vegetables and fry for five minutes, stirring all the time
3. Sprinkle on cornflour and stir well
4. Add wine, beef stock, garlic and tomato paste and bring to boil
5. Add salt, pepper, thyme and bay leaf
6. Transfer to slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 5-6 hours
