Ingredients

Cheesecake:
8 oz cream cheese
1 egg
1/3c white sugar
Brownie:
2c sugar
4 eggs
2 Tbsp hot water
4 tsp instant coffee granules
1/2 c butter, melted
2 tsp vanilla extract
2c whole wheat flour
1 1/3c unsweetened cocoa
1/2 tsp salt (optional if using salted butter)
Directions
Brownie:
1. preheat oven to 325F
2. place sugar and eggs in a large bowl; beat with a mixer at high speed until thick and pale (about 5 min). combine hot water and coffee granules, stirring until coffee granules dissolve. add coffee mixture, butter, and vanilla to sugar mixture; beat at low speed until combined.
3. lightly spoon flour into a dry measuring cup; level with a knife. combine flour, cocoa, and salt, stirring with a whisk. Gradually add flour mixture to sugar mixture, stirring just until moist (batter will be thick).
4. spread batter into 9x13 inch baking dish coated with cooking spray.
Cheesecake:
1. using an electric mixer, beat together the cream cheese, egg and sugar until smooth. dollop the cream cheese mixture on top of the brownie batter. swirl together using a knife or skewer
bake at 325 for 20 - 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. cool in pan and cut into squares.
