Introduction
Taken from a recipe given me by my sister. Taken from a recipe given me by my sister.Number of Servings: 1
Ingredients
-
Biscuit mix
2 1/2 T Bisquick heart smart Baking mix
1 T Egg beaters
1 T FF milk
Filling
1/4 cup sausage flavored country gravy
1/4 cup Egg beaters
1 or 2 Turkey sausage links cooked and chopped or sliced into bite size pieces
1/8 c FF shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions
Mix in a small bowl. Do not over mix. Use an oven safe single serving dish. Drop by small spoonfuls into the bottom of the dish that has been sprayed with cooking spray
Top the biscuit mixture with about half of the gravy, then the sausage, the egg, the cheese and top with remaining gravy., Bake in a 400 degree oven for 10 minutes.
This recipe is a little high in sodium. I used 2% cheese in my recipe and also Banquet Brown and serve Turkey sausage links. I think maybe some ground turkey with sage and poultry season might reduce the sodium. At any rate, if you monitor your sodium and fat for the rest of the day, this makes a very hearty, filling breakfast with a glass of juice or a piece of fruit.
