Ingredients

round steak 12 oz.
olive oil 2 tbsp.
Onions 3 medium
White Wine 4 oz.
Garlic Powder 1 tsp
Montreal steak
Spice 1 tsp.
Black Pepper 1 tsp.
Water 4 cups (approx)
Cornstarch 1 tbsp
Directions
1. Heat oil in a non-teflon dutch oven or deep frying pan on a med-high heat.
2. Place steak in pan and season top side only.
3. Brown both sides of steak and remove from pan to a plate.
4. Add chopped onions to the pan and reduce heat to medium. Cook for 3-5 minutes and scrapes up the brown bits from the bottom of the pan.
5. When the onions become soft and start to carmeize, add the white wine.
6. Simmer cuncovered for 5-7 minutes until the livquid has reduced by about 50-75%.
7. Add 4 cups of water, cover and bring to a light boil. Then reduce heat to a medium-low. Cook for 90 minutes or until tender.
8. Thicken sauce with a misture of 1 tbsp. cornstarch and water.
9. Cook on low heat for another 5 minutes.
Makes 3 4 oz. servings.
Serve with rice or mashed potatoes.
