Ingredients

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 c., plus 3 T. flour
6 c. pitted frozen cherries, thawed
1 cup quick-cooking oats
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. sliced almonds
1/2 t. almond extract
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 13x9 inch pan.
In a large bowl, combine the sugar and 3 T. flour. Add the cherries, tossing gently to coat. Stir in the almond extract. Spoon the mixture into the prepared pan.
In a medium bowl, combine the oats, brown sugar, and the remaining 1/4 c. flour. Using a pastry blender, cut in the butter until the mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over the cherry mixture. Bake until hot and bubbly and the topping is golden brown, about 30 minutes. Let stand 15 minutes before serving.
