Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

    1 1/2 cups flour
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/4 tsp baking powder
    1/4 tsp salt
1 cup sugar (Splenda can be used!)
1 cup peeled, shredded apple (1 large apple does the trick)
    1/4 cup oil
    1 egg
    1/3 cup milk (I used 1/2%)
1/2 cup walnuts or pecans (receipe is calculated with walnuts)

Directions

Mix the first 6 ingredients together in a bowl.

Add all the other ingredients and stir unil combined.

Spoon batter into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Cool in the pan for 10 minutes and then remove the bread. Cool the bread completely and cover in plastic wrap overnight, or enjoy it right then and there!

used wheat flour, applesauce for oil, splenda, raisins instead of nuts, skim milk and egg-beaters. Family loved it! - 12/1/07

I wonder what the fat content is if you remove the nuts? Looks like a great recipe. My oven is preheating now! - 12/30/08

My husband made this and we were really impressed--it is addictive, though, so be very careful. - 12/26/07

I made this and used all splenda, and replaced oil with applesauce. It was a little tough, even though I didn't stir too much. It had pretty good flavor and is edible. I may add more cinnamon if I make it again. - 10/18/09
