Great idea used half cup sugar, no poison Slenda of course, added some lemon juice.
I made this yesterday without nuts & used buttermilk instead of regular. I made muffins baked at 350 for 22 minutes. Only made 12. Out of this world delicious! I need to calculate calories.
reduced sugar to just over 1/2 cup and added a splash of vanilla
This bread was absolutely WONDERFUL!!! I will definitely be making this one again!! It turned out beautifully just the way it is!! I have also made it by substituting applesauce for the oil and it didn't change the outcome. Lower fat and again, amazing! Thank you RoryJo for submitting. Kids love
LOVE IT MADE WITH APPLE SAUCE AND AGAVE FOR MY SUGAR SUB AND THEN MADE WITH WHEAT FLOUR YUM YUM
Made these this AM with some subs applesauce for the egg, buttermilk, splenda for the sugar. Made it into muffins they didn't rise very well (maybe I had old baking powder/soda) but they still tasted great just very small. Will make again.
Would using egg beaters, non-fat milk, and whole wheat flour change the calories much? Also could a partial substitution on the oil with flax seed work on the bread? How would it alter the nutritional content?
I wonder what the fat content is if you remove the nuts? Looks like a great recipe. My oven is preheating now!
Quick prep time, and delicious! To make this even healthier (less fat, no cholesterol) I used Ener-G Egg Replacer instead of the egg and replaced half the oil with applesauce. Thanks for sharing the recipe!
