Ingredients

1 lb. bacon
10 Large Potatoes, sliced, with or without skins
2 Onions, sliced
2 cups carrots, sliced
1 small package sliced pepperoni
2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
1 cube butter
2 cans of soda pop
Salt, pepper, garlic powder and seasoning salt to taste
Directions
Cook the bacon in the Dutch oven until crisp, the remove and crumble it, leaving the bacon grease in oven. Layer potatoes, seasonings, crumbled bacon, onions, carrots, pepperoni, cheese, then pats of butter in that order, until everything is used. (This will make about 3 layers, so divide the food into three's as you layer.) Pour one can of soda over the top, then cover and cook, using 16 to 19 coals (375 degrees) with a 1 (bottom)-to-2 (top) ratio, for 40 to 50 minutes. Do not stir while cooking. Add the additional can of soda if needed. Do not let all of the moisture evaporate. Check occasionally while cooking. Serves 8 to 10.
