Introduction

This was my favorite cake growing up, and has become my children's favorite birthday cake. This makes 24 good sized pieces, so I usually have just 1/2 of a serving. Ingredients

    1 pkg. super-moist yellow cake mix
    1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
    1 cup peanut butter
    1 cup water
    1/4 canola oil
    3 eggs
    1/3 cup chopped nuts (optional)
    6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

Grease 13x9 inch cake pan. Beat cake mix (dry), brown sugar, and peanut butter in large bowl on low speed until crumbly. Reserve 2/3 cup of the crumble mixture. Mix the rest with water, oil and eggs on low speed, scraping bowl constantly until moistened. Beat on medium speed, scraping bowl frequently, for 2 minutes. Pour batter into pan. Stir nuts into crumbly mixture, if desired. Sprinkle over batter. Sprinkle chocolate chips over top. Bake for 40-45 minutes. Makes 24 2x2 pieces. (The nutritional content does not include extra nuts).
