Introduction
The odd quantity is because I wanted to calculate the exact amount that fits in my thermos, 86 oz.Spices can be varied and of course have no caloric impact.
The kind of tea I use does not appear in SparkPeople's food list: decaf loose Darjeeling. It's not easy to find but I don't want the caffeine and Darjeeling makes the kind of chai I'm used to. I guess any Indian, unflavored tea would work--use what you like best. The odd quantity is because I wanted to calculate the exact amount that fits in my thermos, 86 oz.

Ingredients
-
Water
Enough loose tea for one large infuser, or 3-4 teabags (I prefer decaf Darjeeling)
Spices: small cinnamon stick, contents of 5-6 cardamom pods OR about 20 of the little brown seeds(either is better than ground), 2 cloves
Sugar: 3 Tbsp
1 C soymilk
Directions
I'll begin the instructions the way my dear friend, who introduced me to this tea long before you could get chai in every corner coffee shop, said he did it: Meditate on the people for whom you are making the tea, and hold them in love and goodwill.
Put the tea (in a teaball/infuser), spices, and sugar in the water, bring to a boil. Once the tea is dark, add the soymilk and bring back to a boil (but watch out now, as it will foam up and boil over easily).
Serving Size: Makes almost 9 1-cup servings
Number of Servings: 8.75
