A delicious and nutritious slice with oats, dates and pecans.
High in vitamin E and manganese. Not very high in fat with a decent amount of fibre and protein.

Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    Oats, 200 grams
    *Whole Wheat Flour, 1 cup
    Sunflower Oil, 5 tbsp
    Hot Water, tap, 5 fl oz
    Honey I tbsp
    Dates, 200 grams
    *Cinnamon stick, 1 serving
    Pecans, 30 grams

Directions

Simmer the dates and cinnamon stick for 15 mins in some water.
Mix the oats and flour together, then add oil, hot water and honey and mix until you have a moist mixture. Add a little water or oil as necessary.
Drain the dates and take out cinnamon stick.
Line a baking dish with half the mixture then add the well-drained dates on top and scatter the pecan nuts around. Then put the remaining mixture on top and press down lightly.
Bake at gas mark 5 (375 degrees F) for 45 mins until golden brown on top.
