1-1/2 c dried pinto beans
2 tsp baking soda
6 slices John Morrell Maple Thick Bacon
1-1/2 c onion, chopped
2 Tbsp garlic, minced
1/2 tsp cumin
1 tsp thyme
1-1/2 tsp cracked pepper
1-1/2 tsp marjoram
2 Tbsp Gourmet Garden Cilantro Herb Blend
3 c water
Directions
Soak beans in water with baking soda (to remove the 'umph'!) overnight. Drain and rinse well. Spray crock pot with non-stick, add drained beans.
Cook bacon, onion and garlic until bacon just looses flexibility. Add to crock pot. Add 3 cups water, cumin, thyme, pepper marjoram and cilantro. Cover and cook on low 6-8 hours.
