Introduction

This is a great pasta sauce that is quick and easy to cook, only 35 calories per 1/2 c. serving, and has 0 grams of fat! This is a great pasta sauce that is quick and easy to cook, only 35 calories per 1/2 c. serving, and has 0 grams of fat!
Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    2 ea. 14.5 oz. cans Italian-Style Diced Tomatoes
    1 ea. 15 oz. can Tomato Sauce
    3 T. Wine (any kind)
    1 tsp. Italian Seasoning
    1 tsp. Basil
    1 tsp. Oregano
    Garlic to taste (I ran it w/3 tsps.)

Directions

Puree diced tomatoes in a blender. Put all ingredients in a medium size sauce pan and bring it to a boil. Cover and simmer on low heat for 45-60 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Makes 10 servings of 1/2 cup each (that's a good amount to go with 1 cup of pasta).

    I made this last night. Yummo! So much flavor! I will add red and yellow peppers along with mushrooms next time. I'm also thinking about turkey sausage as well. BUT this is an excellent base to start from Many Thanks! What I'm doing is dividing the rest in 2 portion ziplock bags and freezing them. - 12/2/10
