Introduction

These are wonderful with added glace or dried fruits, nuts, anything else you have on hand. I also took cinnamon red hots and crushed them, adding them to the dough. It is a lovely red touch, and surprise taste that is a big hit. I have been making variations of this for over 20 years. Ingredients

    1 cup margarine
    1 cup canola oil
    1 cup confectioners sugar
    1 cup granulated sugar
    2 eggs
    1 TBS vanilla extract
    1 tsp baking soda
    1 tsp cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp salt
    5 cups flour
4 cups diced mixed dried fruits

Directions

Cream margarine with sugars. Then add oil, eggs, vanilla, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt. Then I add the flour and mix thoroughly. Stir in any thing else you want to add at the end. Shape into balls, and I flatten with the palm of my hand. (Can use glass dipped in sugar, but we prefer them plain). These really do melt in your mouth.

Bake at 350 for 8 to 10 minutes on lightly sprayed cookie sheets. Watch carefully, they will burn!

    Incredible!
I made these with a friend of mine last night and they turned out AMAZING! Will definitely be making again.
BTW, they may look like they aren't done after 10 mins, but they are. Looks can be deceiving!
