Ingredients

4 Cups sour cherries pitted (about 2lbs before pitting)
3/4 Cup sugar
3 Tbs minute tapioca
pinch salt
1/4 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp cinnamon
For the Crisp:
1/2 Cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup old fashioned oats
1/2 Cup packed light brown sugar
1/8 tsp salt
6 Tbs chilled butter, cut into small pieces
1/3 Cup sliced almonds
Directions
Preheat oven to 375
Combine cherries, sugar, tapioca, salt, vanilla and cinnamon and stir until thoroughly mixed together.
For the topping, combine flour, oats, brown sugar and salt in a medium bowl and thoroughly mix together. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or two knives until there's no dry flour and you have little crumbles. Stir in sliced almonds. Sprinkle oat mixture evenly over cherry mixture. Bake at 375 for 30 - 45 minutes until bubbly and topping is crisp. Let stand 5 minutes.
