Ingredients

    1 c. diced onion
    1 chopped red bell pepper
    1 chopped green bell pepper
    1 tsp. minced garlic
    1.25 lb. ground turkey breast
    3 TB brown sugar
    2 TB chili powder (chipotle better)
    1 TB unsweetened cocoa
    1 tsp. ground cumin
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2, 15 oz. cans pinto beans, drained & rinsed
    2 cans diced tomatoes, undrained
    1, 14 oz. can fat free, low sodium broth
    2 chipotle chilis, canned in adobo sauce, minced (optional-- adds a LOT of heat)
    2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, chopped
    chopped green onions

    optional light sour cream for garnish

Directions

Coat pan w/ cooking spray & add onion, bell pepper, garlic & turkey-- sautee until turkey is browned & veggies are tender.

Add sugar through chipotle peppers to the pan & bring to a boil-- reduce heat and simmer 15 min or until slightly thickened.

Add chocolate, stirring to melt.

Ladle 1.25 c. of chili into each of 8 bowls & top w/ any optional sour cream or green onions.

8 servings.
