Introduction

Ingredients
-
1 stick butter or margarine I prefer butter for Thanksgiving.
1 cup milk
2 tsp salt
2 pkg yeast
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup lukewarm to the touch water
4 beaten eggs
6 cups flour
Tips
This recipe can be altered to be low fat by using margarine, skim milk, ect. I make it 2x a year for Holidays so I don't skimp on the ingredients. It can also be halved for a smaller recipe that will fit perfectly in a 12 inch dutch oven.
Directions
Scald milk in a pan, add margarine/butter to melt. Pour into a larger bowl. Add sugar, salt and stir to dissolve.
Dissolve yeast in warm water in a small bowl and let stand to proof while milk mixture is cooling.
Beat 4 eggs in a separate bowl. After other mix is cooled to room temp add all together. Gradually add flour to mix until you can pour it out on the table. Knead a few minutes until springy. Place in a greased bowl and set it in the oven (turned off) covered with a tea towel to rise. After doubled in size (about an hour and 25-30 min) punch it down, shape into rolls, Put them in your favorite greased or Pam'ed pan (mine is an iron skillet or dutch oven) let rise again 45 min. Bake @ 350 degrees till light brown.
