Ingredients

    1/2 cup unsweetened Applesauce, drained
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 tbsp unsalted butter
    1 large egg
1/2 cup Adams 100% Natural Creamy Unsalted Peanut Butter
    1 1/4 flour
    1 tbsp Imitation Vanilla Extract
1 tsp Arm & Hammer Baking Soda

1 cup Nestle Tollhouse Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Tips

You can try to use other substitutions like Splenda - I already made modifications by cutting the sugar in half from the original recipe and replaced butter with applesauce (+ 1 tbsp butter). You could also reduce the amount of chocolate chips. I found 1 cup to be a bit too much as it overpowers the flavor of the peanut butter. About half that many chocolate chips would do.

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
2. Drain applesauce using mesh strainer to remove excess juice - place applesauce in strainer over cup and leave for 15 minutes
3. In a small bowl, mix applesauce, sugar, butter and egg until well blended. Add in peanut butter
4. Slowly add flour to mixture 1/4 cup at a time. Add baking soda
5. Stir in chocolate chips
6. Using a cookie scoop, scoop onto greased baking sheet (or ungreased silicone baking sheet).
7. Cook 8-10 minutes or until there are some golden brown sections on cookies. I like mine slightly undercooked, so I went with 8 minutes
