Spanish style speghetti sauce, served over hot white rice Spanish style speghetti sauce, served over hot white rice
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

1 jar of Paul Newman's Sockarooni Sauce
1.5 pounds of lean ground beef
    1 onion, chopped
about 30 green olives, more or less to taste
1 Tbsp capers, more or less to taste
    1-2 tsp garlic powder
    Salt to taste

Tips

This is a recipe from my mother in law. We both work and needed something quick and easy. I love to use fresh ingredients when I have the time. I also like to add fresh sliced green and red peppers. A tsp of sugar will bring out the flavor also, as an option. Hope you enjoy. This is a family favorite and very simple.

Directions

Brown ground meat in large pan, add onions, and cook until meat is no longer pink. Add jar of sauce (I rinse the jar with a little water and add that to the pan also). Add olives, capers, garlic powder (you can use fresh or minced garlic if you prefer), and salt to taste. Simmer over medium low heat for 20 minutes. Serve over hot cooked white rice.
