Introduction
My family loves to clam dig and there is nothing better than a homemade bowl of chowder. This is my husband's recipe and base ingredients. We make it to taste. Ingredients

4 oz fresh razor clams
1 stalk celery, diced fined
4 medium potatoes, diced
1/2 lb bacon, chopped
6 cups half and half
2 cups milk
Chicken Base
2 tsp Salt
1 tsp pepper
2 tsp Celery salt
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
Dried parsley to taste, start with 1 tsp
1 tsp cayenne
4 tbsp unsalted butter
4 tbsp flour
Tips
The chowder will thicken as it cools.
Serve with organic oyster crackers or fresh bakery baguette.
Directions
In a large sauce pan saute celery, potato, and bacon.
Toss in the seasonings, stir, and continue to saute until soft. Pour in half & half and milk. Add chicken base.
Toss in the clams.
Make roux adding 1 tbsp flour at a time until desired consistency is reached. Add a little bit to the chowder and whisk to thicken.
Serving Size: makes 8 bowls
