My attempt to make a healthful brownie that my children would eat. My attempt to make a healthful brownie that my children would eat.
Number of Servings: 12


    1 C. whole wheat flour
    1 C. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 C. sugar
    cinnamon (to taste)
    nutmeg (to taste)
    2/3 C. Hershey's Cocoa, Special Dark
    4 eggs
    1 can (1.75 C.) pumpkin puree
    1 can Gerber (4 oz) sweet potatoes
    4 Tbs. butter
    2 Tbs. olive oil
    2 Tbs. unsweetened applesauce
    1 tsp. vanilla extract


This is not a sweet recipe; I would recommend adding another 1/2 C. of sugar if a sweeter brownie was desired.


Mix dry ingredients together. Mix wet ingredients together in separate bowl; add to dry mixture. Bake @ 350 degrees for 60 minutes in a 9" pan.
