Ingredients

    1 cup steel cut oats
    2 cups water
    1/2 cup skim milk
    1/2 cup half & half
    1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/2 cup chopped nuts (your preference, I use hazelnuts)
    1/2 cup dried fruits (your preference, I use craisins)

Tips

if you like your fruit plumped you can add it in while cooking the oats to rehydrate it some. this will also carry some of that flavor into the oats.


Directions

bring water and dairy to almost boiling. add oats and stir. reduce heat to simmer and cover to cook, stirring occasionally for 10 minutes (al dente) to 20 minutes (creamy).
