Ingredients

3 oz butter
3 oz shortening
12 oz flour (white whole wheat)
12 oz beef steak, chopped fine
1 large potato, chopped fine
1 large onion, chopped fine
Salt and pepper to taste.
Directions
Cut butter and shortening into flour. Mix in cold water until it forms a stiff dough. Refrigerate for 30 minutes
Meanwhile, chop the steak, potato, and onion.
Divide chilled dough into 6 pieces. Roll each to a 6-8 inch round.
Top each round of dough with a layer of potatoes, a layer of onion, a layer of beef, a layer of onion, a layer of potatoes, and a healthy dash of salt and pepper. Fold and seal, twisting the seam together as firmly as possible.
Bake at 300 for 25 minutes.
Serving Size: Makes 6 pasties
