Introduction

Easy homemade dressing/dip. Use fresh or dried dill; it's essential with the garlic for that classic ranch flavor. You can "thin" with buttermilk, milk or water to get a pourable consistency. Ingredients

    1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayonnaise (Hain or homemade safflower oil mayonnnaise)
    1 garlic clove, crushed
1/4 teaspoon each salt and freshly ground pepper
Dill (1 TB fresh chopped OR 1 tsp dried OR 1 tsp Penzey's "Green Goddess" mix)
1 tsp red wine vinegar (optional)

    optional: buttermilk

Directions

Combine all ingredients through vinegar. Mix until uniform consistency and distribution of seasonings. Allow flavors to meld for 3-5 minutes. This will product a thick dip, suitable for vegetables. If you'd prefer a pourable consistency, add buttermilk (3-5 TB).

Will keep in the fridge for 7-10 days... as-if it would last that long.
