Introduction

Sweet and Sour Sweet and Sour
Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    1 med. onion, chopped
1 large apple, sliced thin and halved (peel on)
    1 Tbls Olive Oil
    1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar (can use Stevia)
    4 Tbls Cider Vinegar
    Salt and Pepper, to taste

Tips

This was my great-grandmother, Ollie Oeffinger's recipe. I have to assume it's authentic!

Directions

Heat large skillet and oil, while chopping onion. SAute onion, adding apple. Add water when onions use up the oil so they don't stick. Meanwhile thinly shred the cabbage (I used a mandolin) and add to the pan. Add sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper, mixing well. Cover and let simmer another 15-20 minutes. Taste and adjust the sweet/sourness and seasonings.
