Ingredients

    Basic White Bread (small)

    5 C warm water
    ¨ù C honey
    ¨ö C olive oil
    1 ¨ö tsp salt
    1 T yeast
    10 C flour ( approximately)


Tips

Use honey in place of sugar
Use olive oil in place of shortening


Directions

Activate yeast in 1 C of the water (warm), and dash of the sugar, let rise in a bowl. Add to remaining water, sugar, oil and salt. Slowly add flour until feels good. Knead, let rise until double (about 3 hours). Punch down and let rise again if time allows. Grease pans, shape dough, place in pans. Let rise until nicely rounded. Bake at 350¢ªF for 30 minutes on bottom rack of oven. Bang loaves out of pans immediately. Makes about 5 loaves.
