Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 lb Ground Turkey
    1 can Tomato Sauce
    1 can Chili Beans
    1 can Diced Tomatoes
    1 Green Bell Pepper, Diced
    1 Clove Garlic, Minced
    2 Cubes Beef Bouillon
    ¼ Cup Beer
    1/8 Cup Chili Powder
    ½ TBS Worcestershire
    ½ TBS Oregano
    1 tsp Ground Cumin
    1/2 tsp dried basil
    ½ tsp black pepper
    ½ tsp paprika
    ½ tsp sugar

    Like it hot? Add:
    1 tsp Tabasco
    ½ tsp cayenne pepper
    1 green chile pepper

Tips

It is high in sodium. You could substitute no salt added tomato sauce and diced tomatoes, and only use one beef bouillon cube to bring that down a lot, but I don't know how it would taste. I might try it and I will update this recipe if I do.

Directions

Dice the green pepper. Mix all ingredients EXEPT turkey and garlic in a slow cooker, turn to high while you perform the next step. Brown turkey and drain, then add minced garlic and cook on medium for about 3 minutes. Transfer turkey into slow cooker and stir in. Cover and set on low for about 4-6 hours. You can really let it cook as long as you want, but you want to let it cook for a while so the flavors blend. I did it for 6 hours on low and it turned out fantastic. Alternatively, you can cook the turkey and garlic and then just mix everything in a pot, and warm it up and serve if you are short on time. I recommend the slow cooker.
