Ingredients

    4 cup whole milk
    1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
    1 tbsp butter
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
    2 cups oats
    2 apples, peeled and chopped
    1 cup walnuts, chopped
    1/2 cup flax seed, ground
    1/2 cup water

Tips

Use certified gluten free oats if you're gluten intolerant
Can probably substitute splenda brown sugar blend for sugar, but I've never tried it
Can add more cinnamon to taste


Directions

Preheat oven to 350F.
In a saucepan, heat milk, brown sugar, butter, salt and cinnamon. Add remaining ingredients; mix gently.
Spoon into a greased 2-qt. casserole.
Cover and bake at 350F for 45 minutes.
