Introduction

Warm, filling and SO easy to make! Sodium is a bit high but that can be controlled by using a low sodium ham (which I did NOT do in this recipe). Warm, filling and SO easy to make! Sodium is a bit high but that can be controlled by using a low sodium ham (which I did NOT do in this recipe).

Ingredients

    8c. Ham (diced)
1 1/2 Heads Green Cabbage (shredded)
8c. water (more or less as needed)
    Black Pepper
    Crushed Red Pepper

Directions

Place diced ham in the bottom of the crock pot. Add shredded cabbage and water. Water should fill 3/4 of the pot with all the ingredients in. Crock pot should be VERY full. Sometimes my lid doesn't even fit on quite right...it will cook down don't worry. Cook on high for several hours or until cabbage is done. Add black and red pepper to taste approximately an hour before you think it will be done. It doesn't take much pepper! Add water as needed to keep it "soupy".
