Introduction

Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    4 egg whites - substitute is about 1 C
1 cup sugar - Splenda no calorie, granular)

    1/4 cup whole wheat flour
    1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    1/4 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
    Butter-flavored cooking spray

Add 20 calories if you have Cool Whip Lite (2T) on top of warm brownie/s.

Directions

Preheat oven to 350.

Use whisk and mix applesauce, vanilla extract, egg whites and sugar. Whisk it enough to appear foamy. Add remaining ingredients and whisk until smooth; almost looks like mousse. Pour into 8x8 greased (spary) pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top of mixture in pan. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

I tweaked this recipe and replaced Sugar Twin with Splenda; still have not made with regular sugar. The Sugar Twin gave it a 'diet' taste and not so much with Splenda. Also, mini chips might be better for better and greater distribution.

Lastly, try 2Tbls of frozen Cool Whip Lite on top of two warm brownies. Added 20 calories and was yummy.
