Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1 cup dried peas
5 cups Swanson's Natural Goodness Chicken Broth
    1 cup baby carrots, sliced
1 1/2 cups ham cubed, fat removed
    1 packet ham soup base
    Dried thyme, a sprinkle
    1 small bay leaf
    Minced Garlic, a sprinkle
    Pepper, to taste

Directions

Spray 3 qt. crockpot with cooking spray. I used 3/4 of a 1 lb. bag of dried peas (sorted and rinsed). Put broth in first then the rest of the ingredients. After 8-10 hours taste to make sure its spiced enough, you may have to add a little more thyme as it will disolves after that amount of cooking time. If you like your soup thicker, mash some of the soup in the slow cooker and stir. The mashed peas will help thicken the soup.
