Ingredients

    1 cup butter (room temp)
    1 cup white sugar
    1 cup brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1tbsp vanilla extract
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp baking soda
    2 cups flour
    3 cups quick oats
    1 12oz package milk chocolate chips

Tips

This recipe can also be modified to use crisco butter flavored baking sticks in place of butter. This makes puffy cookies rather than flat cookies.


Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix butter and both sugars together until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla and mix. Add salt and baking soda and mix again. Add flour carefully and mix. Add oatmeal 1 cup at a time and mix. Add chocolate chips and mix only until just incorporated. Cover cookies sheets with parchment paper and spoon on approx. walnut size balls (12 to a sheet). Bake for 8-10 minutes, watching carefully so that they do not burn the bottoms.
