IntroductionCrunchy, somewhat sweet, and satisfying snack-- packed with great nutrients, fiber, and protein! Crunchy, somewhat sweet, and satisfying snack-- packed with great nutrients, fiber, and protein!
2 Tbsp Brown Sugar, packed
1.5 Tbsp oil
7.5 Cups chickpeas (this is about 2lbs dried-- adjust recipe for however much you have)
I use a LOT more cinnamon than is listed here, as I'm not convinced you can overdo the cinnamon! I sprinkle more on at every stage-- on the sheet, when I shake them, with the honey.
Dried chickpeas work better as they don't have a salty, processed flavor that competes with the sweetness.
Thicker, less sweet honey works really well-- I find store-bought makes them taste fake somehow, so if you can find a good local honey, it will be worth it!
Keep in an airtight container (mine are still good after 3 months!).
Return to the mixing bowl. Drizzle honey over them as you swirl. Return to the baking sheets to cool and get crunchy.
