Healthy, yummy, and fast! Use macintosh or some other variety of softer apple for the best results. Healthy, yummy, and fast! Use macintosh or some other variety of softer apple for the best results.
Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

1 medium apple (I used Macintosh)
    1 tsp ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
    1 TBS unsweetened applesauce
    drizzle of honey
    1 TBS granola cereal (optional)

Tips

*I've also added cottage cheese, raisins, oatmeal, pumpkin puree -- get creative! :) peanut butter or chocolate chips might be good additions

Directions

Peel and cut out the middle of the apple. I like to leave a little of the peel intact, but you want most of it off so the spices have something to adhere to. You can either discard this stuff or microwave it with the apple.
sprinkle the apple inside and out with nutmeg and cinnamon.
put the apple sauce in the hole and drizzle with honey*.
Microwave on high for 2 minutes or until it's as soft and squishy as you like it. Depending on the size and variety of your apple, it may take longer.
