Ingredients

    Sausage
    1 lb. ground chicken
    1/2 tsp. dried sage
    1/2 tsp. dried marjoram
    3/4 tsp. dried thyme
    1/4 tsp. ground cayenne pepper
    1/4 tsp. ground allspice
    1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
    3/4 tsp. kosher salt
    1 garlic clove, finely minced or pressed
    1 Tbsp. maple syrup

    Biscuit Mix
    1 cup flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    2 Tbsp. canola oil
    1 tsp. salt

    3 oz light cheddar cheese
    1/4 cup skim milk

Tips

Add more milk if mixture is too dry.


Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Lightly mix all sausage ingredients together until the herbs/spices are well incorporated – make sure you don’t over mix!

In mixing bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt and oil. Mix on high for 1-2 minutes or until crumbly.

Combine sausage mixture with biscuit mix adding milk and cheese. Mix by hand until just combined.

Cover baking tray with tinfoil and spray with cooking spray. Roll into meatballs. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pan and cool on baking rack.
