Introduction

My German grandmother made this often for family get-togethers. It is an ideal winter-warming comfort food. I revamped it a bit to bring down some of the calories. Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
    1 cup Plain Yogurt
    1/2 cup Grated Parmesian Cheese
    1 tsp. Carraway Seed
    1 cup Saurerkaut, drained
4 cups Red Potatoes, washed and quartered
1 lb. Kielbasa Sausage, sliced and quartered
    1/2 cup Buttered Bread crumbs

Tips

I made it for one special occasion using shrimp, crab meat, and scallops, in place of the Kielbasa Sausage. Instead of parmesian cheese, I used Havarti. Everyone there raved about the Seafood Cassorole. Never make either of these without lots of hungry eaters around. Leftovers will be calling your name.

Directions

Mix until well-blended the first four items into large bowl. Add Kielbasa, potatoes, and sauerkaut. Fold until all items are well-coated. Pour into an oiled casserole dish, at least 9x12. Top with buttered Bread Crumbs. Bake in preheated 350 degree Oven for 45 minutes.

Serving Size: makes 8-10 three quarter cup servings
