Introduction

My husband ate something similar on a trip to Munich. He searched the internet until he found a recipe that sounded like what he ate. After a few tries and a few alterations, this is what we came up with. Not a low fat meal, but hearty and satifying. Served with mashed potatoes it is a real winner. To accomdate the high fat, just plan out your meals for that day to give balance. My husband ate something similar on a trip to Munich. Very Good
I love brats and sauerkraut, but have a hard time finding it where I live (at least at restaurants or the county fair). I liked this version, though I'm used to more sour sauerkraut. This recipe left the sauerkraut somewhat bland on it's own, but it was great served hot dog style. - 5/25/11

I love this dish over boiled potatoes i like sauerkraut but I always add a little bit of brown sugar to tame the sourness. - 1/12/08
