Introduction

Ingredients
-
1 stick of butter
1 stalk of celery- chopped
2 large onions- chopped
1 green pepper- chopped
46 oz Tomato Juice
Salt (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)
Sugar (to taste)
Mild Italian Turkey Sausage Links
Tips
We also use Sweet or Hot Italian Sausage (pork)
Directions
Melt the butter in a pot (use a large pot- you will be adding the other ingredients to it)
Add the celery, onions, and green peppers- saute. Once they are cooked down.
Add Tomato Juice, Salt, Pepper, and Sugar. Allow this to cook on low- add salt, pepper, and sugar to taste. This will bring out the right flavors.
While the sauce is simmering. Boil the Sausage Links to pull out the additional fat or grease from them.
Then add them to the sauce and heat together.
I eat these without a bun. My husband loves them on hoagie buns/ Italian bread. These are thicker than hot dog buns and the sauce won't make them crumble.
These also reheat really well!
Serving Size: Makes 16 sausage links and sauce plus more sauce left over!
Number of Servings: 16
