Ingredients

    1 cup milk
    2 tbsp cornstarch
    1/3 cup butter, salted
    1 large egg yolk
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    dash of salt

Directions

Combine milk and cornstarch in small pot. Whisk over medium heat until thick. Add butter, in pieces, and lemon juice. Whisk until smooth and glossy. Turn heat to low. Add egg yolk. Whisk until smooth and heated through. Serves at least 6.

    Very Good
    light flavor - might add more lemon next time. very creamy - excellent substitute for full fat version - 4/12/09
