Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    2 Garlic bulbs
    4 tsps Olive Oil
    Salt & Pepper to taste
    Sliced French bread, if desired

Directions

Heat oven to 350 F.

Carefully peel paperlike skin from around each bulb of garlic, leaving just enough to hold garlic cloves together. Cut 1/4 to 1/2 inch from top of each bulb to expose cloves. Place cut side up on 12-inch square of aluminum foil.

Drizzle each bulb with 2 tsps oil. Spinkle with salt & pepper. Wrap securely in foil. Place in pie plate or shallow baking pan.

Bake 45 to 60 minues or until garlic is tender when pierced with toothpick or fork. Cool slightly.

To serve, gently squeeze soft garlic out of cloves.
Spread on bread.

Serves 8

Look for firm, dry, unshriveled and plump bulbs of garlic with the skins intact.

I love garlic and this is a great and simple recipe. It's a perfect appetizer when having friends or family over, especially if you have a garlic loving family. I eat it along with pasta on pasta nights! - 3/27/08
