Introduction

A decadent vegan chocolate cake from scratch. A decadent vegan chocolate cake from scratch.
Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

    3 C Flour
    2 C Sugar
    2/3 C sifted Cocoa Powder
    2 t Baking Soda
    1 t Salt
    2 C Water
    2/3 C Vegetable Oil
    2 T White Vinegar
    1 T Vanilla Extract

Tips

Serve as 2 9" cakes and cut into 8 pieces, OR
Serve as 1 - 2 layer cake, and cut into 16 pieces.


Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees & spray pans with non-stick spray (even silicone!)
2. Whisk dry ingredients together thoroughly.
3. Add wet ingredients and whisk until combined.
4. Divide batter evenly between cake pans.
5. Bake 30 - 35 minutes until a toothpick comes out with a few wet crumbs.
6. Cool cakes in pans on wire racks for 10 minutes.
7. Unmold cakes onto wire racks to cool completely.

Serving Size: makes 2 - 9" cakes
