Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 package Great Northern (or Navy) Beans, about 2 cups
    3 large carrots, shredded
    1/2 onion, diced
    1 clove garlic
    .5 Tbsp Black Pepper, to taste
    1 Tbsp Paprika, to taste
    Water
    Ham Bone


Tips

I like to shred my carrots using the small cheese grater so the carrots just add a little bit of orange color to the ham and beans, and picky kids won't realize that they are eating vegetables with their meal.


Directions

Soak beans overnight (8-10 hours) to soften, covered.

Drain and rinse beans. Return to crock pot. Add shredded carrots, diced onion, minced garlic, pepper and paprika. Stir ingredients until mixed. Cover beans with water, about 1-2 inches above top of beans. Place ham bone on top of beans. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
