Ingredients

    15 oz. lean boneless top round beef, cut into 4 equal pieces
    1 Tbs. Olive Oil
    2 C. sliced mushrooms
    1/2 C. sliced onion
    1/2 C. sliced carrots
    1/4 C. sliced celery
    1 C. Tomato Sauce
    1/4 C. dry red wine
    1/2 tsp. dried oregano
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. ground black pepper

    Optional:
    1 C. sliced green bell pepper
    10 oz. sliced all-purpose potatoes

Directions

1. Preheat broiler. Broil beef on rack 4 inches from heat 2 minutes on each side
2. In large skillet heat oil; add mushrooms, onion, carrot, and celery; cook over medium heat until onions are translucent, about 2 minutes. Set aside
3. Add tomato sauce, wine, oregano, garlic powder, salt, pepper and 1 C. water together in Crockpot...mix thoroughly.
4. Add cooked vegetables and meat.
5. Cover and cook on low setting for 8-10 hours.
