Ingredients

    1 1/2 c. cornmeal
    1/4 c flour
    1 tsp baking soda
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp sugar
    2 c buttermilk
    2 tbls oil
    1 egg separtated

Directions

Mix dry ingredients together. Add buttermilk and egg yolk. Mix thoroughly. Beat egg white until stiff peaks form and fold into buttermilk mixture. Let stand 10 minutes.
