Ingredients
-
1/2 cup roasted buckwheat
1/2 cup oats (I used rolled, but steelcut is better)
1/4 cup triticale (I ran out of oats!)
1/2 cup brown rice
2.5 - 3 cups water
1/2 cup milk (I used almond milk)
1/4 cup dried blueberries
1/4 cup finely diced dried pear
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1.5 tbs brown sugar
Tips
Serve with a dollop of low-fat yoghurt and a splash of soy or almond milk. If you are feeling decadent a drizzle of golden syrup!
Directions
Place all ingredients in slow cooker and cook on low for 7-8 hours (or overnight), or four hours on high.
This makes a rather thick porridge, you may want to add more liquid depending on how thick you like your porridge!
I used dried blueberries and dried pear, but you could use any dried fruit.
Based on the Eat-Clean Crock-Pot Porridge.
